The current version of IMPACT!Appraiser is: 2.0.10
The following instructions should help you install a complete version of IMPACT!Appraiser on a machine without a pre-existing database (SQL Server).
Server Side Installation
Prerequisites
Download MS-SQL 2005 Express Edition (available here).
Follow the installation procedure, note the following:
- For all steps other than steps 9 & 10, you can safely choose the defaults for each step.
- For step 9, proceed with option 1 (Use a Local System Account).
- For step 10, select Mixed Mode Authentication and set the password to be IMPACT or another strong password, of your choosing. Remember you will need to provide this password later to IMPACT!-Tools.
IMPACT! Installation
Download the complete version here! To install:
Simply click on the jAppraiserTools_mini.msi file. You should note the desired version number of IMPACT! as well as a full install with license agreement screen. This install must be completed.
If you do not have Java Runtime installed, install the latest version of Java Runtime Environment, which may be obtained from http://java.com/- follow their installation procedures.
IMPACT! Configuration
Basic Configuration:
Once both installs (IMPACT! and Java Runtime) are completed:
- Open IMPACT-Tools (Green Tools Icon)
- Login (using your MS SQL username/password from above)
- Select Database from the menu bar at the top of the page
- Select Create Database from the Database drop-down
- Select “Yes” at the confirmation dialog in order to proceed with creating IMPACT’s database. Select “No”,if you do not wish to create an IMPACT database.
- If you choose to create a database, you will notice a database creation progress indicator in the Output Log area. This process may take few minutes. Please be patient.
- Upon successful database creation, you will receive the following message in the Output Log area:
- “** Done Creating your IMPACT DB. You may add benchmark to IMPACT now.”
- To add a benchmark go to the top menu bar and select the Benchmarks option; a drop-down will offer Add A Benchmark follow the instructions presented on the pop-up window. If the Email activation does not work, please cut and paste your System Volume Number into a regular email message and send the message to IMPACT support. We’ll send you a key.
Publishing IMPACT! on your intranet
In order to perform this function you must first open IMPACT-Tools in order to gain access to this function.
Once you have started “Publishing IMPACT’s Web Files” you will notice a browse function, so you specify the location for IMPACT!s installation. Once you select the location a progress indicator in the Output Log area. This process may take few minutes.
Upon successful completion of this process, you will get a message in the Output Log area indicating that the site is published.
Running IMPACT!
Run IMPACT! from the Start menu or by double-clicking its blue icon at the desktop.
Login into IMPACT! Note: default user name and password are Admin and Admin.
